Last year I announced that the So You Wanna Go Digital? – Second Edition book was being split into two or three books.  The reasons were many, mainly being the fact that the publishers wanted to slash all sorts of content and pictures from it in order to make it cheaper to print.  So I promised that the printed book would be the foundation for an advanced book, containing all of the good pictures and so on, that would be released the following year.  This is an update to let you know that I am working on fulfilling that promise. 

Almost as soon as the transcript was submitted for the Introduction to Computer DJing & CPS book, I began working on editing and adding content to what I had already completed for the Second Edition of So You Wanna Go Digital? – renaming it as Advanced CPS Concepts.  Since February 2008, I have been occasionally working on that project, adding more content and editing what was already there from my previous work.  Due to time constraints, I have not had much time to dedicate to it or when I have had the time – I’ve been somewhat unmotivated to work on it.

But now that the book has been getting some good exposure in Mobile Beat Magazine as well as being marketed here, on upcoming episodes of the DJ Idea Sharing Podcasts, etc. – there have been a few inquiries as to the release date for the follow-on book Advanced CPS Concepts.  And to answer that question – I have begun working on that project again this week and have made good progress.

To date, the new book is currently at 72 full-sized pages (8-1/2″ x 11″) and the word count is at 23,310.  This represents most of the first three chapters of the book as well as the Introduction, Acknowledgements and so forth.  However it does not including a Foreword, but I do have someone different in mind for this book – I plan to have that finalized in the coming weeks.  A large portion of the remaining work has already been completed (almost two years worth of writing and editing), requiring that I simply cut and paste the contents into the new manuscript.  Of course there is a fair amount of editing that will need to be done in order to make the previous work fit seamlessly into the current format.

Anyway, with all the editing and writing, the content of the new books represent more than 60% all new material versus the old versions of the books!  Stay posted, more details coming soon!!!
