In a historically unprecedented move, Microsoft has announced that it will continue to support Windows XP through the year 2014!  Traditionally, Microsoft discontinues supporting an operating system less than ten years after it is released.  However with poor sales in the business sector as well as droves of people downgrading their systems to Windows XP, Microsoft is hoping to avoid the low-end computer manufacturers from shipping their consumer machines with Linux installed instead.  (more…)

Here we are again talking about the many splendid wonders of laptops and why they suck; for mobile DJing that is.  And as the old saying goes, the third time is a charm - so I have pondered for many days as to the perfect content for this third article in the “Laptops Suck” series.  Well OK, actually I haven’t given it much more than a passing thought here and there as other things have vied for short attention span, but that never stopped me before.  (more…)

As a follow-up to my recent article - My First Official “Laptops Suck” Post - it would seem that a few folks are in need of a clarification on a few key points that I attempted to make slightly tongue-in-cheek. Perhaps it is because some laptop-lovers do not have much of a sense of humor or at least do not appreciate me poking some fun at their beloved portable devices, but no matter which way you slice it - some folks get it, some folks don’t. Which quite possibly brings us full circle, requiring a bit of an explanation about my observations.
